Ooredoo Group and Syntys announced that Syntys has acquired Q Data QFZ LLC, the operator of hyperscale data center facilities in Qatar, with a current operational capacity of 5 MW and an additional 7.5 MW under development. Under the transaction, ownership of two Tier III-certified data center facilities located within Qatar's Free Zones has been transferred, increasing Syntys ' total operational capacity in Qatar to 26 MW. The acquisition comes in response to the growing demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence services across the region. Ooredoo stated that the transaction aligns with its strategy to invest in critical digital infrastructure, while Syntys noted that the acquisition supports its regional expansion and enhances its ability to serve hyperscale cloud and AI service providers, in line with Qatar's digital economy objectives.
